About Us

We're an Indonesian couple from East Java and have lived in the Netherlands since 2017. Dapoer Djember was born out of our love for authentic Indonesian food. Dapoer means kitchen, and Djember is our hometown in East Java. There, we learned to cook with care, attention, and love—every meal as if it were for our own family.

Our journey began in Rotterdam, where we cooked on a small scale for families and students longing for the familiar flavors of home. The enthusiastic response and word-of-mouth recommendations led to us increasingly being asked to cook for larger occasions, such as Christmas dinners and birthday parties.

After moving to Groningen in 2023, we decided to further professionalize this passion. With Dapoer Djember, we want to offer more than just food; we also want to create a warm, authentic Indonesian experience. That's why we're now focusing on expanding our catering services—for both small and large events—while always prioritizing quality, taste, and hospitality.
