Our Story – Dapoer Djember
Dapoer Djember was created from our passion for sharing authentic Indonesian food in the Netherlands.
We are a couple from East Java, Indonesia, living in the Netherlands since 2017. Growing up in Indonesia, cooking has always been about family, care, and togetherness.
“Dapoer” means kitchen, and Djember is our hometown in East Java, where we learned traditional cooking, authentic spices, and homemade family recipes.
Our journey started in Rotterdam by cooking for friends, families, and students who missed the taste of home. In 2023, after moving to Groningen, we decided to grow Dapoer Djember into a small food concept focused on authentic Indonesian street food and catering.
What We Serve
We serve a variety of authentic Indonesian dishes made with our own homemade recipes and traditional spices, including:
- Sate Ayam & Sate Kambing
- Nasi Goreng & Bami Goreng
- Indonesian meat dishes like rendang, gulai, and semur
- Side dishes & snacks like perkedel, sambal goreng tempe, and sambal goreng kentang
- Vegan dishes like gado gado and pecel
- Homemade sambal & signature sauces
- Catering for private events and gatherings
And many more authentic Indonesian favourites.
We continue refining our recipes and spice combinations to create authentic Indonesian flavours that can be enjoyed by everyone.
We also offer halal-friendly options.
Our Philosophy
We believe food should feel warm, honest, and memorable. Every dish is prepared with care, quality ingredients, and authentic Indonesian flavour.
At the moment, we are serving our food through pickup and delivery in Groningen.
